Recently, Marland built us a mold that flat out beat our 10-second target
by achieving an 8 second cycle time. We are pleased with the performance of this mold and the way
this project was handled all the way through. I look forward to working with Marland in the
future.

We recently purchased a mold from Marland that required a tight
delivery and higher capacity. They produced a mold with a significant cycle time improvement.
The end result is almost double the capacity over our existing workcell while maintaining the
same foot print.

Every project starts with the assignment of a team consisting of your Sales Executive, the Design Engineer,
and the Manufacturing VP. It is the jobs of the Sales Exec to understand the business needs of our clients
and to help other members of the Team fulfill them. The Sales Exec is the Customers advocate in this regard.
Engineering and Manufacturing develop the mold concept to meet
the needs of the Customer. The goal is to balance cost, performance and longevity to produce a mold with
optimum value to the Customer. After Customer approval of the concept, Engineering designs the mold to
achieve the desired performance characteristics.
Marland mold designs draw upon over half a century of experience
creating custom tailored solutions to Customer requirements. The people behind our advanced equipment are
engineers and fabricators with decades of experience working together on state-of-the-art CAD/CAM and other
advanced design and manufacturing equipment.
When our Teams are involved in the early stages of an idea,
the strength of our experience and teamwork produce measurable benefits for our Customers:
 |
Optimum cycle time. |
 |
Enhanced part quality and consistency. |
 |
Lower per part cost. |
 |
Less down time and higher mold efficiency. |
 |
Reliable, cost-effective tooling. |
 |
On time delivery. |
Marland teamwork and proven processes of design and manufacture assure each customer that their mold will
accomplish its assigned mission.
Innovative mold construction technology
Our employee-owners apply the most rigorous standards to every aspect of mold design and construction with ISO
9001 certification. These standards are achieved with the latest advances in computer integrated machining to
bring value to our customers.
At the heart of this process is Marlands
modern facility. Constructed in 1998, the design of our plant allowed us to take advantage of all that we
had learned about mold building in the preceding 52 years. The production area contains state-of-the-art CNC
machines and measuring equipment, arranged for lean manufacturing.
Quality improvement is our way of life
It is our first priority and we achieve it by adhering to a
management system that supports its implementation in every thing that we do.
Marland has for many years, produced large
cavitation molds with interchangeable components. This is made possible by using a master gauge system. That is to
say, if we produced a mold five years ago, we can make new components for that mold without having to fit them
to the mold. Critical dimensions are measured and recorded at the time that they are made. This gives us
continuous control over the manufacturing process and enables us to quickly supply you with new components
built to the same exact specifications as the originals.
Starting with our climate-controlled production
environment and state-of-the-art quality lab, Marland invests continuously in major upgrades to our equipment
that allow us to respond to our customers requirements for tight tolerances.
Marland Mold has a Brown & Sharpe CNC/CMM measuring system capable of repeatable accuracy of 1/2 a micron or 20,000,000 ths of an inch, which gives us the ability to check all features to a master, in this case a CAD file. This insures that all
components conform to the same master.
The CNC Vision System uses a camera to magnify
features so that they can be measured with great precision. This is also used to take pictures and transfer
them over the Internet, giving our customers the opportunity to be involved throughout the manufacturing process.
The Marland quality policy is a commitment to
continuous improvement, examining opportunities, listening to feedback from customers and taking preventive
and corrective actions, to improve our products and our processes of production.
In-house Testing Facilities
Marland maintains its own testing facility with three presses ranging from 100 to 350 tons. This enables us to
test your mold and make any minor adjustments that may be required prior to delivery. This saves you time and
money. When you are ready to install the new mold in your press, the Marland technician will be there to
insure that you have a successful startup.
